Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets Defeat Madison Varsity Trojans On Multiple Hit Performance By Ava Smith

Ava Smith collected four hits in four at bats, as Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets defeated Madison Varsity Trojans 12-0 on Friday. Smith hit a solo home run to center field in the first inning, doubled in the third inning, singled in the fourth inning, and singled in the second inning.
Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Smith hit a solo home run to center field, Holly Zantop doubled, scoring two runs, and Tori King singled, scoring one run.
Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets scored five runs on five hits in the top of the second inning. Brooklyn Biela doubled, scoring one run, Alexyn DuBois tripled, scoring one run, Halle Swihart singled, scoring one run, and a wild pitch scored two runs.
Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after DuBois singled, and Zantop grounded out, each scoring one run.
DuBois earned the win for Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets. The hurler gave up two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out nine and walking one. Camylie Sower took the loss for Madison Varsity Trojans. The starter went one and one-third innings, giving up nine runs (six earned) on nine hits, striking out two and walking one.

Halle Swihart Helps Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets Slug Their Way To Victory Against Madison Varsity Trojans

Halle Swihart hit two home runs and drove in four as Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets defeated Madison Varsity Trojans 17-1 on Friday. Swihart homered in the third and fourth innings.
Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets scored nine runs in the third inning on the way to victory. Tori King singled, scoring two runs, an error scored two runs, Brooklyn Biela singled, scoring one run, Alexyn DuBois singled, scoring two runs, and Swihart homered to left field, scoring two runs.
Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to three singles. Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets first got on the board when DuBois singled, scoring two runs.
Three more Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets runs crossed the plate in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 17-1. DuBois singled, scoring one run, and Swihart homered to center field, scoring two runs.
Amanda Ley earned the win for Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets. The starter allowed one hit and one run (zero earned) over four innings, striking out four and walking one. Kendall Gilbertson took the loss for Madison Varsity Trojans. The starting pitcher went two innings, surrendering 14 runs (13 earned) on 12 hits, striking out two and walking four.
