Ava Smith Drives 4 Runners Home In Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets Victory Over East Jackson Varsity Trojans

Ava Smith drove in four runs on three hits to lead Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets past East Jackson Varsity Trojans 16-0 on Monday. Smith doubled in the first scoring two, doubled in the second scoring two, and hit a solo home run to left field in the first scoring one.

 

Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets scored nine runs in the second inning on the way to victory.  Amanda Ley drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, Ryley Manning doubled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Smith doubled, scoring two runs, Bryn Biela singled, scoring one run, and Halle Swihart singled, scoring one run.

 

Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Smith hit a solo home run to left field, Alexyn DuBois homered to center field, scoring two runs, Swihart hit a solo home run to center field, Brooklyn Biela doubled, scoring one run, and Smith doubled, scoring two runs.

 

DuBois earned the win for Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets. The starting pitcher surrendered zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out six and walking two. Kilah Boatright took the loss for East Jackson Varsity Trojans. The pitcher went one inning, giving up six runs on seven hits, striking out none and walking one.

 

Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets accumulated 12 hits in the game. Swihart, Biela, and DuBois each collected multiple hits for Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets. Manning and Smith each stole multiple bases for Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets. Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets had patience at the plate, accumulating five walks for the game. Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets ran wild on the base paths, accumulating seven stolen bases for the game. Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Swihart made the most plays with seven.

Alexyn DuBois’s Clutch Hitting Propels Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets To Victory Over East Jackson Varsity Trojans

Alexyn DuBois drove in four runs on three hits to lead Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets past East Jackson Varsity Trojans 16-0 on Monday. DuBois hit a home run to center field in the first scoring two, doubled in the first scoring one, and singled in the second scoring one.

 

Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets scored 12 runs in the first inning on the way to victory.  Bryn Biela drew a walk, scoring one run, DuBois doubled, scoring one run, Halle Swihart doubled, scoring one run, Kilah Boatright induced Ryley Manning to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Brooklyn Biela doubled, scoring two runs, one run scored on a dropped third strike, an error scored one run, DuBois homered to center field, scoring two runs, and Amanda Ley homered to left field, scoring two runs.

 

Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets added four more runs in the top of the second inning on three hits. Biela drew a walk, scoring one run, DuBois singled, scoring one run, and Swihart hit an inside the park home run, scoring two runs.

 

Ley earned the win for Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets. The starter gave up one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out five and walking one. Savannah Macguiness took the loss for East Jackson Varsity Trojans. The reliever went two innings, giving up four runs on four hits, striking out none and walking two. Boatright led things off in the circle for East Jackson Varsity Trojans. The pitcher allowed seven hits and 12 runs (five earned) over one inning, striking out one and walking four.

 

Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets collected 11 hits in the game. Swihart and DuBois were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets while hitting back-to-back. Holly Zantop collected two hits for Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets in two at bats. Biela led Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting six walks for the game. Manning and Ava Smith each stole multiple bases for Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets. Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets ran wild on the base paths, amassing eight stolen bases for the game.

 

Khloee Gettings led East Jackson Varsity Trojans with one hit in two at bats.

 

Hanover-Horton Varsity Comets play at home on Wednesday against Vandercook Lake in their next game.
